First use of e-shelf-labels in Slovakia

Terno - one of the largest Slovak food retail chains - has launched electronic price labels (ESL) completely controlled by the B.O.S.S. Enterprise system. This significant step in modernisation of the sale environment was achieved in close cooperation with the company P.V.A. systems, the supplier of software solutions for retail chains management, which Terno has been using for a long time. For the pilot deployment was selected the Kraj store in Ivanka pri Dunaji, which together with the Terno and Moja Samoška store brands belong to the retail chain of Terno real estate company, member of Sandberg Capital Group.

A total of 1 280 ESL tags in sizes ranging from 2.2" to 4.3" including models for placement in freezers, were deployed for the pilot. The ESL tags were deployed primarily in the fruit and vegetable section and for items with frequent changes in pricing or other information. The combination of paper and electronic price tags within a single store is supported by the system. When printing the changed prices, the system intelligently recognizes the products that require a physical paper price tag and those that are associated with an electronic price label, to which the change will be transferred.

The management of ESL is fully integrated into the functionality of our ERP system and it is possible to take advantage of the convenience of managing all components from one system. During the implementation, great emphasis was placed on maximum automation and comfortable control, for example when entering other information such as the country of origin for fruits and vegetables using the B.O.S.S. Mobile application directly from the sales area. Thanks to the use of the template module in B.O.S.S. Enterprise, it is possible to creatively and dynamically change the appearance of price tags according to ongoing sales events. Furthermore, it is possible to assign multiple e-shelf-labels to one product - one label displays basic information such as a product name and price and the other label displays additional mandatory information about the product composition.

The direct integration of e-shelf-labels into the B.O.S.S. Enterprise system is a great competitive advantage because all work with the labels is done comprehensively in one system and there is no need to integrate additional software add-ons. This guarantees the integrity of our ecosystem and if assistance is needed, our helpdesk can be contacted to address the request comprehensively in relation to the established processes in the system. Thanks to the support for dynamic creation of template content based on master data in B.O.S.S. Enterprise, flexible pricing changes can be made based on store-specific parameters. This also ensures compliance with all legislative requirements. A great advantage is also a simple overview of the status of e-shelf-labels via the dashboard in the branch client with the possibility of reporting any error conditions. The B.O.S.S. Mobile application enables comfortable management of e-shelf-labels, including their initial matching with goods directly in the sales area using online data terminals.
